๐ฒ I used to think that itโs only something project managers do ๐ฐ๐ก๐๐ง ๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ญโ๐ฌ ๐ ๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ญ ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ค๐ ๐๐จ๐จ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐ .
๐ฃ Just like thereโs a difference between cooking bland food thatโs still edible and making a really tasteful meal, thereโs actually a big difference between getting all your work done and then barely having any time or energy afterwards, and getting things done with extra time to kill.
๐ง It occurred to me that many of us think we need to learn to manage our time better but what might be more effective is understanding that every aspect of our lives can be considered a project. Time is just the space you have to execute the needs of your various projects. When these needs are identified you can create a strategy to assign specific tasks to your time. I used to think that I needed to get better at time management when in reality I needed to get better at project management (planning, executing, monitoring).
๐ Thatโs why some people get complex assignments done super quickly - they learned how to break big tasks into smaller, more manageable, pieces. Often we think we know how to do that but donโt so we end up delaying big assignments and thinking weโre lazy. We actually just lack clarity because weโve never learned or mastered this important skill.
๐ฅ BUT the good thing about skills is that they can be learned! If you feel youโre lacking in this area I recommend watching YouTube videos on the topic and setting time aside to learn project management!
