I used to believe that to live a balanced life meant to live a life where I was always doing everything perfectly/ responsibly all the time. After all, doesn’t balance means perfect equilibrium?
🤷🏾♀️But after failing to live that life and achieve that glorious state where I give all my priorities equal attention, I realized something about balance:
😨Balance is a by-product. Though in our minds we picture it as a fixed, immobile state, it can only be achieved through movement. For example, to ride a bike you must keep moving and your movement is what makes you balanced. Similarly, jugglers have to keep moving the cones in order to juggle or the cones will fall. Or when you’re treading water in the swimming pool, you might look like you’re standing but if you stop moving your feet underwater you will sink.
✅Now, I try to focus less on rushing to get to that point where I’m finally ‘balanced’ and more on just focusing on what needs to be done. Maybe if I do that long enough I’ll wake up one day and naturally realize that I’m living a balanced life after all ✨
